Galaxy Clan/Player Faction Biographies
This section of the formatting policy is for pages about Galaxy clans/player-controlled factions. Note that this should not be treated as a Formatting Policy for the lore-based factions.
Page Requirements
In order for a page on a player-controlled faction to exist, the faction itself must meet the following requirements outlined below:
- Must have had at least 25 faction members at any point in time.
- Must have existed for at least 2 months, and also not have disbanded within 3 months of its creation/founding.
- Must have had some sort of short-term or long-term impact on the game or the community; the clan's name should be known by a portion of the community.
- To clarify "known by a portion of the community", this requirement basically means one should be able to go into the Galaxy Discord, ask about the faction, and see that people not currently enlisted in the faction recognize it.
These requirements are also listed on the Clans category page. If you're seeking to have a clan documented on the Galaxypedia and it meets the above requirements, please open a ticket in the Galaxypedia Discord.
Page Formatting
Introduction
A short description of the clan should be given at the beginning of the page, after all template inclusions. Example: "Vanguard Coalition was a clan well known for their piracy".
Story
Here, you should list in-depth details about the clan (as well as a description), such as (but not limited to) how they operate (or in other words, how they play in-game), what they're known for, notable events in their history, date founded, and slogans to name a few. If the clan disbanded, discuss why that happened; otherwise, discuss the clans achievements. For an example, see the The Blackhawks page.
Trivia
Similar to any kind of page that has this section, add trivia (i.e. general fun facts & miscellaneous information) related to the clan here. You may also list less significant achievements of the clan in this section. Please remember to read Ships Formatting Policy: Trivia, as that gives a general idea of what is considered acceptable trivia on the page.
Gallery
This section should include a gallery of images about the clan that give a visual insight to notable events in its history, or otherwise directly related images. Remember to use the <gallery> tag for image galleries on the page. To see an example, view this section of the Osiris Legion page.
References
Please remember to add citations where they are necessary, as details about clans often aren't readily available inside the game; and can be difficult to otherwise verify. See Ships Formatting Policy: References List for information about adding citations. Also see Galaxypedia:Citation needed.
