The Dragonfly was a weak but extremely fast Fighter that only spawned on the Lucifer Station, eventually removed due to every fighter in the Lucifer Station (except Nighthawk) being replaced.

Description

The Dragonfly was the first Fighter added into the game and was originally a ship that was spawnable by players. It is currently the game's fastest Fighter, with the second smallest health pool, and one of the three Fighters to have a Small Cannon as a weapon, the others including the Nixesion and Blitz. This fighter used to only spawn on Lucifer Station, before it and the Unarmed Envoy were replaced by the Xenophile and Striker.

Interior

Like all fighter class ships, the Dragonfly has little in the way of an interior.

Advantages

• Very quick.
• Can weaken Hull so teammates can finish them off.
• Is the fastest fighter in the game.

Disadvantages

• Low damage.
• Hard to aim at moving ships.
• Smaller spinal count than the Fury.

Strategy

• Work with other Fighters to take down small ships in their blind spots.
• As the fastest non-limited ship in the game, this ship is fantastic for distracting base fire.
• Work with other Fighters to harass large ships.

Version History

• Remodeled in .61e4?
• Following the Blizzard buff in .65b, this fighter cannot be found on any ships in the game.
• Started spawning on Frion I's Lucifer Station in an unknown version.
• Stopped spawning on the Lucifer Station in version .73b along with the Unarmed Envoy, and were replaced by the Striker and Xenophile, this marked this ship's removal from the game.

Trivia

• Used to be a possible fighter spawn for a Starbase along with the Fury and the Xenophile, before an update changed starbases to only spawn furies.
• Used to spawn into the Hevnetier before the fighter randomization feature was removed from the Hevnetier. After the carrier's remodel, it lost the ability to spawn the fighter, leaving the Blizzard as the only ship that could spawn it.
• Replaced by the Icefyre in the Blizzard buff.
• The Dragonfly used to be the fastest non-limited, non-admin ship in the game. It got beaten by the Fury in the Starbase remodel update.
• Was only found on Frion's orbital space station.
